TIER-1 US MSO DEPLOYS AXERRA NETWORKS' PSEUDO-WIRE SOLUTIONS FOR MOBILE BACKHAUL SERVICES

WOODBURY, Conn – June 19, 2009 – Axerra Networks, “the leading provider carrier grade Pseudo-wire circuit emulation and service emulation solutions, today announced that a US Tier-1 MSO has started mass deployment of Axerra’s AXN products. The AXN solution enables the MSO to offer its Mobile Network Operator (MNO) customers both legacy T1 and next generation mobile backhaul services over its existing nation-wide packet network.

Axerra’s AXN Pseudo-Wire Access Devices are being deployed at cellular tower sites and AXN Pseudo-Wire Gateways are being deployed at Mobile Switch Center (MSC) sites. The end-to-end network is being managed using Axerra’s AXNVision Pseudo-wire network management suite. To date, Axerra has received equipment orders and has shipped product for MSO services deployment to over 1,500 towers in support of multiple Tier-1 (MNO) end customers.

The MSO selected the AXN solution following a rigorous certification testing and selection process. Multiple mobile backhaul related technology attributes contributed to the selection of Axerra including Axerra’s mobile backhaul high precision clock recovery (HPCR) technology, traffic Quality of Services (QOS) mechanisms, end-to-end network management and diagnostic features, and the overall scalability of the portfolio solution.
